It’s a new spin on the classic yard sale: the “Ex-Husband Sale.”
We’ve heard of divorce parties before, but this one’s new: a divorce yard sale — or what recent divorcee Linda Taylor calls an “Ex-Husband Sale.” After their separation was finalized, Taylor was awarded everything the couple owned together in their settlement — including their home of 13 years — but she wanted no reminders. That’s where the “ex-husband sale” comes in. Apparently, it’s like a garage sale, but one that’s full of all the former possessions of the man who cheated on you after 33 years of marriage.
Or as Taylor’s hilarious Craigslist ad so eloquently puts it: “He lied and cheated. What a fool. Now I’m selling his power tools … And everything else!” The sale, which she held on Sunday in Loveland, Ohio, included golf clubs, pool table, ladders, furniture, and other household items.
“I don’t want to have the same furniture, or anything to remind me of what we had,” Taylor told WCPO 9. “I’m just ready to move on.”
