Tom Brady has withstood the worst of what the best linebackers in the world have had to deal out for sixteen years now.
But the wrath of a 5’11”, 130 pound woman may be too much for him to face.
Brady’s absence from the White House ceremony arranged to honor Brady’s team, the New England Patriots, for winning their fifth Super Bowl was conspicuous, as it was often reported that he and Trump were friends.
From The Hill:
The Patriots quarterback made headlines by calling Trump a “good friend,” and one of Trump’s “Make American Great Again” hats was spotted in his locker. But Brady has not officially endorsed Trump and said he will not reveal his vote until next week.
Trump claimed … during a campaign rally in New Hampshire that Brady had already voted for him.
Therefore Brady’s no-show raised eyebrows, particularly in light of what his wife tweeted the day of the event.
As The Hill reported:
Supermodel and philanthropist Gisele Bündchen tweeted a link to an April protest against President Trump and his climate policies at the same time Wednesday that her husband, NFL quarterback Tom Brady, was missing the New England Patriots’ visit to the White House.
The tweet was quickly (and suspiciously deleted) but a picture of it can be found below:
Besides her views on the environment, Gisele has made it clear that she is not a Trump fan.
According to Boston Magazine:
The model dispelled any rumors of the Brady-Bündchen household being in the conservative candidate’s corner in a reply to a fan’s comment on a recent photo. Gisele wrote an emphatic “no” in response to a suggestion that the couple supports Trump.
Brady for his part simply declines to answer whether he is a Trump voter.
Brady said in a statement that he could not attend the White House ceremony because he had to attend to ‘family matters.’
Brady’s mother has been ill and the White House ceremony occurred only one day before his parents were to celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary, but some wonder how either prevented the star athlete from attending such a high-profile event.
Perhaps his wife’s pro-environment, anti-Trump views provide a better explanation.
After all, having a president who is a “good friend” celebrating your fifth Super Bowl win sounds all well and good but…being married to someone who looks like Gisele Bündchen?
That sounds pretty special.
