Carpet stains are a nightmare for everyone. You scrub and scrub and you just can’t seem to take them stubborn stain out. We’ve all been there, done that but we’re here to put an end to all your problems.

We found the magic stain remover!

All you need is a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and a few drops of lemon essential oil. Everything you need is already in your kitchen you just need to mix it up and the stain will disappear instantly.

Take a bottle of hydrogen peroxide which is 1/3 full. If your bottle is full pour some of it out or use another dark bottle. Don’t use clear or translucent bottles, they will break down the hydrogen peroxide and neutralize its cleaning properties.

Fill the bottle with water (2/3) and add about 5 drops of lemon essential oil. Mix it and shake it gently.

This mixture is perfect for carpet stains because the hydrogen peroxide breaks down the stains while the lemon oils gets rid of the sticky specks.

How to apply it:

Pour the mixture on the carpet stains and leave it on for a few minutes to set. Take a scrub brush and loosen the carpet fibers by scrubbing them. The greasy disgusting stuff will come out on the surface. Take a cloth and wipe the carpet, removing any excess liquid. Do this for a few times until your carpet is clean. The best part? It works great on upholstered furniture too.

Caution: You need to be careful with some carpets. I’ve tried it on all my carpets and it didn’t affect their color but hydrogen peroxide can lighten darker carpets sometimes. It’s best if you test it on a small surface behind a door or someplace where it’s not so visible to make sure it won’t lighten your carpet. If it does bleach, add some more water until you’ve found the perfect combo.
